Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut will be seen playing the lead role in the movie named “Manikarnika.” The film based on the nineteenth-century story depicting the Rani of Jhansi Laxmi Bai faces opposition from Rajasthan.
The movie has started drawing opposition on the same grounds on which Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie ‘Padmaavat’ is facing opposition.
The Indian cinema is constantly in a fight with intolerant political and cultural factions. After Deepika Padukone’s Padmaavat, now it’s Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika that is facing the ire of strong opposition.
Sarva Brahman Mahasabha told that film give a false impression of Rani Laxmi Bai and depicts a love affair between her and a British man.
It is said that movie is based on the foreigner’s book, which does not showcase the reality as it is. Nobody can even imagine that Maharani Laxmi Bai could have an affair.
Suresh Mishra, the president of the Sarva Brahman Mahasabha also added that he had sent letters to the film producer Kamal Jain to look into the whole matter.
But he has not received any response from the producer’s side, which means that their intentions are not good.
The producer of the Manikarnika Kamal Jain clarifies that they had taken into consideration all the facts and information depicting the Rani of Jhansi.
He also added that she was the brave freedom fighter and one of the most respected leaders of our country.
Kamal Jain told that she has been the symbol of great courage in our country and film depicts the same. There is nothing objectionable about her in the movie.
The film the facing opposition that Rani of Jhansi has affair with the Britisher but Kamal Jain told that no love affair has been depicted in the film and the values and faith of people have not been distorted.
Jain is confident to show the movie script to the people who are doubtful towards the movie and he told there is nothing we are hiding.
On the other hand, Suresh Mishra, the president of Sarva Brahman Mahasabha requested the state government to obtain an affidavit from the filmmakers that no distortion of facts would take place in the film.
