Ranveer Singh has proven himself in every role he has taken. He has done wonderful work so far and especially in the films he was associated with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. For the first time, Ranveer Singh signed to play a negative role in SLB’s magnum opus movie Padmaavat and guess what he superbly succeeded in playing the role so well.

Ranveer played the role of Alauddin Khilji in the epic drama Padmaavat and he did the role in such a way that no one can imagine anyone in his place. It is pretty much tough to play the negative role in a flick, especially for the actors who played only protagonists all the time. However, Ranveer hasn’t given a second thought to choose to play the antagonist.

Ranveer aced the role of Khilji in the flick and not to mention, it is not at all a cakewalk for him to do such a negative shade. Recently, it was revealed that Ranveer locked himself in a room for 21 days, lived in isolation until the shooting was going on, cut himself from the outer world, and was just engrossed in tapping into deep negative emotions.

Guess what the result was? He got so deep into the character that he was almost going to physically assault someone on the sets. Ranveer said in an interview, “A really strange incident happened off camera on the sets. Somebody made a mistake and I turned towards that person and I was going to physically assault him as Alauddin Khilji. I was like ‘wait a second, this is not real.’ Suddenly my instinctive reaction was that of the character’s and not mine.”

In order to get rid of the character and the emotions of it after the film’s shooting wrapped up, Ranveer said he got back with his family and spend more time with them. It is indeed a difficult thing to play a character like Alauddin Khilji, who is quite negative in shade.

However, Singh proved once again that he can ace any role he was given. Actors like Ranveer who went to an extent to lock himself in a room and isolate himself for 21 long days do deserve a bow for their hard work and passion for the movies.
